In 2012 we started our “Karate in Schools” programme running introductory after-school and breakfast karate clubs in primary and secondary schools. Four years later we now run these classes in 25 schools and the demand for our classes keeps increasing! A lot of the students that started karate in these classes have gone on to achieve a high standard of martial arts and are getting ever nearer to their black belts!
We try to work closely with the schools and regularly run Anti Bullying workshops in conjunction with the Anti-Bullying Alliance to all year groups.
If you think that an after school/breakfast karate club would be something that would fit in at your school then why not contact us and arrange an assembly?
Here are what some of the school had to say about us:
“The after School Karate club on a Wednesday is one of the most popular in the school. Greg and Dan are great and have a very good report with the children. They have done some great demonstrations with the children for the parents too! I am very happy to recommend them.”
Simon Puttman – Head Teacher at Deansbrook Junior School, Mill Hill
“Doug and Joe have been teaching our years 1 and 2’s for 3 years now and have gone from strength to strength. They have a great way of teaching with both the discipline and fun being in equal proportions. I think that karate has been a great addition to our after school activities!”
Steve Brown – Health and Wellbeing team leader at Hobletts Manor Infant School, Hemel Hempstead
“Doug Connell and Shogun Karate, has run a karate club for us at Pinner Wood School since 2013. He began by introducing karate to the school in an assembly and has run a weekly club ever since.
We have found Doug to be reliable and well organised. He takes the children’s safety very seriously during the club and in the handover to parents.
I can recommend Doug wholeheartedly. The children have enjoyed the club and benefitted from it.
